How to cook the perfect EGG

The right way to hard-cook an egg
You can avoid cracked shells and greenish rims
around the yolk if you cook eggs this way:
Place in saucepan and add cold water to cover
plus another inch.  Bring to full rolling boil, then
remove from heat.  Cover and let stand twelve
minutes.  Rinse with cold water.  Eggs are done.

How to make sure a egg is hard boiled...
by placing a egg on a flat counter.. If the egg spins
it's hard boiled if it just kind of thuds it's a raw egg.

Ok brother...No more trick eggs, I've got it figured out now:)

NATURAL DYE FOR EASTER EGGS

Different Shades of Red:  beets, raspberries, cranberries, grape juice, or red onions

Different Shades of Yellow:   Yellow onion skins, orange
peels, lemon peels, shredded carrot, celery seed, ground cumin or ground turmeric

Pale green:   Spinach leaves

Golden:   Yellow Delicious apple peels

Light Blue:  frozen blueberries, thawed

Light brown:   Strong brewed coffee

Place hard-boiled eggs in a single layer in a large pot
(do not stack them). Pour in just enough water to cover
the eggs, add about 1 teaspoon vinegar
and the desired natural dye to the water.

Bring the water to a boil; reduce heat and simmer for about 15 minutes.

If you'd rather not go natural, either use food coloring or go out and buy one of the many egg coloring kits available.

Eggs 1-4  Shown above were made by mixing marzipan or
almond paste with food coloring. Form the shape you want in your hands(roll up a flat strip to make rose) and press it onto dyed eggs.  Let dry. To make
#1 shown above first attach satin ribbons with white glue. For basket grass design, use gel dipped in green sugar.
#5  Shown above is done with Tissue paper. Cut random shapes from
colored tissue paper.  thin white glue with water and brush onto back
of cutouts.  Pat papers on egg, overlapping edges so colors blend.
#6 Dye egg blue. Draw branches with brown pencil or crayons. Roll
bits of cotton to form pussy-willows and attach with glue.
#7-8 Above are done using Paint Pens available at local craft stores.
You need not be an artist to get wonderful results.
#9 is done by first using clear nail polish to create design on egg.
Allow to dry. Dye egg and cover the design with glitter.

These eggs may look complicated to make but are quite easy.
Parts of the egg is blocked off before or after first dying them.
Then you dip the egg into one, two or even three different colors to
achive your desired results.
Materials used to create the eggs above include
Rubber bands
Thin strips of tape
tape & paper stars
Parsley Dipped in Crisco then tied tightly to the egg with cheesecloth
Loose leaf reinforcements
Crinkled plastic wrap with holes poked through crayons

Eggs pictured above are suitable for all age levels. The youngest of
decorators can put self sticking paper dots on a white egg. Dip egg in
dye bath. When dry peel off the stickers  to reveal white dots. They
then could add more stickers and repeat if they wish or just leave the
new stickers on for an added effect. Other suitable egg coloring for the wee lil' ones include having them scribble on an egg then with help placing it into the dye. They can also attach candies with cake decorating gel as the glue to eggs.

For the older child: They can add sprinkles to eggs and create designs like shown on the Bunny above. This was achieved by cutting ear shapes out and gluing sprinkles to egg.
The used of nail polish is also an option for the older child(btm left roll pictured above) This can be done by adding colored nail polish in pattern as above or placing clear nail polish on an area you wish to remain white after dyeing.

As you can see the possibilities are endless. There are no right
and wrong ways to create that masterpiece.
